Important Information About Your Health & Welfare Plan
The continuation of health & welfare benefits is critical for all of us and many of our family members. If we are supportive of a change in unions, from Local 40 to YOUR union – the BC Hospitality Employees’ Association has a plan in place to ensure that benefit coverage will continue, without any disruption.
How can we say this with confidence? We have already taken our current plan design to benefits consultants and have been given assurances that the current plan can be maintained. This is done through a process called a “change in the agent of record”. You won’t have to re-enroll, everything will remain in place as it currently is.
Local 40 may attempt to use fear or confusion to keep their hold on you – including fear or confusion surrounding your health & welfare plan. Don’t buy into it. You have a right to change unions and Local 40 needs to be held accountable for the ways in which they have failed you.
Your health & welfare coverage is safe and will be there for all of us when we need it.
